Steve Childers & GCA Church Planting & Renewal Conference, January 26-29, 2010

Steve Childers' influence in church planting circles seems to be everywhere. Presently, I am in San Diego visiting TCT planters Tim and Abbey Cain. The Kaleo Church/Acts 29 leaders here have recently been consulting with Steve about next steps for their local network. I look forward to Steve meeting with us in April 2010 for what I pray is an historic advance in our development as a network.

If you have not already spread the word about the GCA conference in January, see this as a reminder to take advantage of it to strengthen the leaders in your church plant and prepare potential planters for the future. Our Bethlehem planting residents, Brett Louis and Jason Vaden, will be there.

The GCA Church Planting & Renewal Conference is scheduled for January 26-29, 2010 in Orlando. GCA has decided to extend the Early-Bird Discount registration date to December 31, 2009 and only charge college and seminary students $95.00 (and allow student spouses to attend for free). Click on the link below to learn more about the conference and consider signing up. Please forward this email on to all those you think might be interested.

TBI Alum Seeking Ministry Position

Grant Winnes, a youth-and-family guy is graduating from The Bethlehem Institute: Track 2 in May, Lord willing, and will be seeking a ministry position.

If you, or someone you know, is looking for a partner in ministry who is reformed in theology, missional in vision, relational in approach, charismatic in affections and sees the whole family as the scope of senior high ministry, then Grant would be a great fit.

He has been working with high school students for thirteen years as a teacher, coach, youth director and for the last three years as an intern at Bethlehem. He is thirty-five years old, married with three children and is looking to be in a church as long as the Lord will allow them to stay.

If you know of any leads, Grant can be contacted at grant.winnes@hopeinGod.org.

Church Planting Network Meetings

Treasuring Christ Together Church Planters met this past week for a wonderful time of refreshment and worship. Jordan Thomas gave a overview of his two month sabbatical this summer and report of his study of Hebrews. We were all blest by his study devotional and awed by his accomplishment of memorizing the entire book. Each of the church planters gave reports and updates of their ministry. After each update, prayers were offered for specific requests. Cleon and Florine shared the importance of the family relationships and how to build this ministry area into our schedules each week. Kenny and Kathy shared ideas on how to minister as a team couple in the church and had everyone over for a delicious dinner in their home for a great time of fellowship. There was a great spirit of unity and support for each other in the gathering.
